The following information provides step-by-step instructions for newly-hired University of Louisville employees, including how to access Workday and complete necessary onboarding tasks prior to hire date. This information is intended solely for the use of new hires that have previously been sent the onboarding Welcome email.
Before you access Workday, please read the following:
Welcome to the University of Louisville! Before you begin onboarding, you must activate your University of Louisville account. To activate your account and access Workday, please follow these steps:
Step 1:
If you already have an active UofL UserID and Password, please skip this step and proceed to Step 2. If you have previously been a student or employee at the university, you must still complete this step to verify your recovery information and reset your password. For this first step, visit the Identity Management Portal to activate your account to obtain your UofL UserID and Password. For assistance activating your account, including setting your recovery information and your password, visit our How-To Guide. You will need your University of Louisville ID number (your 7-digit identification number) to complete this step. If you do not know your ID number, you can look it up using our “Obtain Primary UserID” page. Remember your UofL userID and password you set up for the next steps.
Step 2:
Sign up for DUO two-factor verification. Do not use @louisville.edu at the end of your UofL userID for this step.
Step 3:
Login to Workday. After activating your account, log in to Workday to begin the onboarding process. You will log in to Workday using your UofL userID and the password you set when you activate your account (this time, use @louisville.edu at the end of your userID at login). You will be asked to complete your two-factor verification with DUO.
Step 4:
Once in Workday, complete your onboarding tasks. For assistance, view the Onboarding QRG (viewable with your UofL userID and password login).
