Now that the monthly leave requests load directly to PeopleSoft, what happens if an employee doesn't have sufficient leave?
Department timekeepers do not need to review leave balances when reviewing Monthly Leave Requests for area employees.
The following escalation rules apply when being processed through Business Operations and Payroll Entry during the time-load each month.
Escalation Rules – Monthly employees
1) If employee Sick time (SCK) is requested in excess of their current available balance, then Vacation time (VAC) will be charged. If no Vacation time (VAC) is available, then Payroll and HR will review on a case‐by‐case basis in accordance with FLSA regulations.
2) If Vacation time (VAC) is requested in excess of the current balance, then Payroll and HR will review on a case‐by‐case basis in accordance with FLSA regulations.
